Certainly it is not always easy to maintain a high hygiene standard. Adequate hygiene prod- ucts make an important contribution to this.
Wherever people are treated and cared for, measures must be taken to protect patients as well as attending physicians and nurses against the transmission of germs. This applies particularly to geriatric nurses who are exposed to an increased risk of infection. Therefore compromises with regard to hygiene are not acceptable in the out-patient nursing area either.
For example the extensive Vala range with disposable products such as blankets and pillows, protective bed sheets, disposable wipes, washing gloves, bibs, face masks etc. make it much easier to maintain consistently hygienic procedures. Peha catheter and nursing packs also ensure safe and aseptic performance of work during invasive treatment care. Examination and protective gloves are a hygienic must for many tasks. Many small yet indispensable things such as wooden tongue depressors, cotton buds, sputum bag or room spray must be on hand as well.
